comment Poppadums and pickles great.

Mixed Kebab - a bit cool. Must have been left on the side for too long before serving.

Thai Chicken red curry This is a Thai and Indian Resturant. Great to mix and match. Curry was dead tasty.

Sag Aloo/ Mushroom Baghi - Galyva (very good in Gaelic)

Great dim light atmosphere with interesting arch decorated lighting and criss cross design wall decoration.

nice wine selection by the glass

All in all v.good, a bit pricy thou'

comment Excellent fresh poppadums and really tasty dips. I particularly enjoyed the Thai style chilli dipping sauce and spiced onions.

Thai starter of Tod Mun (Thai style Fish Cakes). Thought that they were very good. Unlike most other fish cakes I've come across these were all fish and they were delicious. Light with a delicate batter, went very well with the Thai chilli dipping sauce.

Main of Methi Gust, very good too. Lamb extremely well cooked and it was nicely spiced too. Also enjoyed the garlic naan bread.

Sides of Tarkha dahl and sag aloo (that I had) were fairly average.

Service very good. We were all finished by about 20 past 9! However deducted half a mark on the amount of time it took them to prepare our bill - it was a about a further half an hour and 2 rounds of mint chocolates later!

On the whole an excellent and well run restaurant but a bit pricey for food that whilst of a very good standard wasn't something you couldn't get anywhere else for about a tenner less.

comment Popadoms were good, but pickle selection was odd.
Chilli Onions had a hint of HP sauce to them, no lime pickle.

Tod Mun - Thai Fishcake starter
Were crisp, tasty and not oily.

Shat Kora Gust - Lamb in Calamansi juice, Lemon leaves & Rind with Chilli.
Unusual, but nice. Quite light and hot end of medium. Lemon flavour was a key note with good spicing for other flavours. I liked it but you'd have to like citrus.

Mushroom Bhajee side
Rich and packed with mushrooms. very good.

Bhindee Bhajee side
Well cooked, but a little light on sauce. which is a shame as the sauce was nice.

Garlic Nan
Well cooked, good size, not strongly garlic, but it was there.

Service was accurate, and not pushy. They dealt very well with a confusion in the order ending up with a spare starter. The letdown in service was how slow things were in arriving. Also mains arrived a bit ahead of the rice and sundries.

Beers were restricted to small bottled beers, having something suitable on tap in pints would be a big improvement here.

comment Not so impressed as I was last time when this restaurant was Amani.Lacked the atmosphere it had then. Poppadoms were fine, but pickles a bit too runny, except spicy onion which was good. Had Thai soup for starter. Could have been warmer, but lots of chicken (and other things) in it. Very big pieces though. The main dish was best thing of the night - Gust Korai - lamb in a rich Punjabi sauce. Delicious. Not too struck on Tarka Dal and hadn\'t tried any other sides.

comment A mixed pre-starter as the poppodum was fresh, warm and crisp but the pickles and chutneys were no more than passable.

This restaurant serves both Thai and Indian food so decided on Thai starter and Indian main.

Starter of Pia Ka Pong Long Tang (crispy sea bass with a special Thai sauce). I thought it was outstanding. The sticky and spicy sauce on top of the crisped sea bass was superb. The fish was very well cooked too. Wonderful!

Main of Gust Korai (lamb with rich spiced sauce). Lamb was well cooked although I felt the sauce was a bit bland. Liked the garlic naan bread!

Loved the sides particularly the bhindi bhaji (okra was extremely tasty and well cooked) and mushroom bhaji (nicely spiced and tasty mushrooms).

Service was fairly good and no mistakes were made, but it was slow. But then perhaps we should've expected that being a party of 11.

On the whole pretty good!
