comment Pre: Pops nice and crispy and not oily at our end. Dips all nice especially spicy onion but i look forward to the pickle so its absence was noted.

Starter: (Mo-mo-cha) Dumplings themselves were well cooked but not much taste to them without the accompanying dip which added a bit of a kick and taste.

Main: (Lamb Saag) Very nice with a little bit of spice which you dont always get in a saag. Lamb very tender and a good sized portion with lots of meat.

Sides: All were nice (if not quite what was expected) and Garlic nans were tasty (peshwari was a bit dry) and reasonable size.

Service & Atmos: Let down by the time it took for the food to come and couple of mistakes with drink/food order. Suspect a little understaffed in the kitchen but we were a big group so some allowance needed but everyone was friendly.

Overall food was pretty good but let down by the service times.

Chicken Chat - starter - nice thick sauce, very tasty.

Main - Lamb Karai - lamb cooked nicely, but no/not enough distinctive taste. Same for black dal side dish. So a little disappointing after 3 months off. Not helped by the fact that my appetite can often be poor. But surprisingly I did enjoy the garlic nan - something I seldom have!

comment Pops - first one was ok, but the spare that we had on the bottom of the pile was quite stale. Spicy onions nice - actually had some spice! Mango chutney average, as was the yogurt thing. No lime pickle to the disappointment of some.

Tandoori salmon starter was superb! nicely marinated, gentle spice and suculent.

Garlic chili chicken was decidedly average though. Couldn't taste much garlic and certainly no big chunks to be seen. The only heat (apart from mechanical heat since iy was served on a sizzling platter) came from a single chili on top of the dish. Chicken was nice and tender though.

Sides (daal makhana, saag aloo, aloo gobi and brindal bhaji) were ok, but nothing outstanding. Peshwari naan average too.

Looked like only 2 in the kitchen cooking, so food took a while to arrive - however at least it was all hot.

Overall, not bad.

comment Nice fresh crispy poppodum. Disappointed with lack of lime pickle but the spiced onions were great! I thought the mango chutney was decent enough but didn't care for the other dip that we had!

Starter of spiced haddock - absolutely superb! Lovely spices mixed with a delicious piece of fish and a good amount of heat to it too! Fantastic and possibly the starter of the year for me!

Main of lamb saag, a bit spicier than the norm, but for me there was too much spinach and very little meat by comparison. The meat was also a bit chewy in places. Good but not great! Thought the naan bread was very good though!

Wasn't too impressed with the majority of the side dishes. The bhindi dopiaza that we ordered became an aubergine dopiaza but that for me was still the best of the bunch!

I quite liked the restaurant but it needs to improve on it's front of house organisation. Apart from the mix-up of a couple of dishes, we started to receive the main courses and some naan bread before they had even put out any plates to eat them from! Could have been a bit more attentive too, I felt.

comment No Lime Pickle, but Onion was quite spicy.

Garlic Mushroom starter. Plenty of Garlic in a smooth creamy sauce. Late bringing anything to go on the salad.
loved the mushrooms though.

Bhuteko Khasi Main Course (Lamb), asked for it Hot!
The Lamb was excellent and the dish overall was very tasty. Not just chilli to make it hot, recommend this dish.

Side dishes were quite tasty too, although quite small portions. Sadly I keep comparing side dishes in the UK to the size (and quality) of similar dishes when I was in Goa. They don't compare that too well.

Service was friendly and generally efficient as far as the waiters were concerned. Sadly though our eleven strong party stretched their kitchen too much and there was quite a long wait between courses.

Overall a friendly and atmospheric place to eat.
Value for money was good.

comment Starter was Mo Mo Cha, fried vegetable dumplings. Very enjoyable.

Main course, lamb handi, lamb on the bone cooked with the chefs' unique sauce. I would certainly have that again.

Popadoms were fresh and the spicy onions were excellent.

Lovely atmosphere and I enjoy the decor.

The service was a bit of a let down. Perhaps they can't cope with a large party. The main dishes were served minus plates, so there was a wait to get tucked in.
