comment Pre:- Pop's nice and crispy at our end and extras very nice but had to be asked for separately. Pickle especially good as seen by Gav's face.

Start:- Good portion and cooked well but a bit sweet for my liking and for a chicken puri.

Main:- Lamb Karahi, meat pretty tender and didnt have anny sinew in my dish. Nicely spiced and good sized portion. Bit of an odd serving method in a large bowl but overall good.

Sides:- Everything really good apart from the rice which had an odd over powering taste to it (possibly cloves) and didnt go well with the meal. Tarkha Daal had a real chilli kick to it but other sides werent great (although did make one that wasnt on the menu)

Service/Atmos/VfM:- Service started off a bit shaky but they did move tables around for us, cook something off menu and we were done before 10pm so hard to complain. I quite enjoyed having the open kitchen to see what was going on but not to everyones taste. Overall a good feed from a fairly new restaurant with a few things still to get right but would probably go back.

comment Pops a bit stale and we had to ask to get anything other than onions on the table. They were quite nice though. Mixed pickle very sour much to the pleasure of the pickle freaks. Mango was average.

Spiced haddock with mushrooms was very nice - spicy and well cooked. However, perhaps too spicy (not hot spice, but fragrant) as I felt that the garam masalla was totally overpowering the fish.

Garlic chilli chicken was very tasty indeed. Lots of small chunks of garlic - pickled perhaps? Nice delicate flavours - not very hot though. Was tempted to add my Insanity sauce, but thought it would spoil the taste.

Garlic naan was well covered with garlic butter and the peshwari was very tasty too. Tarka dahl was nice and thick, but I couldn't taste the garlic (but that was probably due to the vast amount in my main). Mushroom bahji was nothing special. The aloo gobi was quite tasty.

Service was not the fastest, but with only 2 chefs and 1 waitress, it's no surprise.

I think they could do with better extraction in the open kitchen as the spices floating around in the air were a bit nippy on the eyes.

Would quite happily go back though.

comment The poppadums were delivered before our order was taken which is a no no in my book, however I thought they were very good! The lime pickle was great and also spiced onions and mango chutney were of good quality!

Starter of Spiced Haddock with mushroom. The fish was nice enough but it was unfortunately completely overpowered by the spices which made it bit cloying too!

Main of lamb bhindi. It could have been the rice but I had the taste of cloves with this dish and I really don't like that flavour! I also felt it was another spice fest that just didn't do it for me.

Sides were ok and a bit spicier than expected, especially the Tarka dahl!

At the end of the evening I felt stuffed but not satisfied, I'm afraid I didn't like this one!

comment The lime pickle was great so were the spiced onions.

For starter I had the spiced Haddock with mushroom. The fish was nice enough unfortunately it was completely overpowered by the garam masalla.

Garlic naan was very nice with a generous covering of garlic butter.

My main dish was lamb Karahi, meat was tender however I felt it lacked flavour and spice. Good sized portion. Unusual serving method in a large bowl.
